X Profile Integrity Checklist After Cleanup (2026)
Finishing cleanup is not the finish line. The real finish line is profile integrity: proving that legacy activity was reduced while identity and trust signals stayed stable.
1. Identity fields unchanged
Verify these fields match pre-cleanup snapshots:
- display name and handle,
- bio text and primary links,
- profile photo and banner.
2. Network baseline preserved
Record follower/following counts before and after. Minor drift is normal, but sudden drops usually indicate unrelated account actions that need review.
3. Content surface matches scope
Compare expected removals against visible timeline surfaces:
- Posts tab and Replies tab,
- Reposts behavior where applicable,
- Likes tab for residual old interactions.
4. Residual handling protocol
If old likes or replies still appear, run one verification pass with sampled IDs. Distinguish UI lag from true unresolved items before escalating.
5. Cross-device consistency
- Primary browser session
- Secondary browser/private window
- Mobile app
Integrity checks should pass in all three views within your verification window.
6. Public narrative continuity
Publish a short positioning post or pinned thread right after cleanup. This keeps momentum and avoids speculation about silence after historical pruning.
7. Integrity close-out log
Store one close-out record with:
- scope executed,
- counts removed by type,
- residual status,
- next verification date (if any).
